Information Specialist
Reflection and Artifacts
As previously mentioned, I love information. Further, I love to share my love of information with others. The Georgia Southern University School Library Media Master of Education program prepared me to share my knowledge of information with both students and faculty members.
During the FRIT 7765 Clinical Practicum I created a LiveBinder to relate Ethical Use of Information for Middle Schoolers. This LiveBinder included information on a wide variety of topics such as plagiarism, citation of sources, social media etiquette, and cyberbullying. This LiveBinder is broken down by grade level and includes multiple formats of information that is presented in exciting, rather than stuffy/boring means.

As an extra part of this practicum, I curated a Symbaloo resource listing to assist both teachers and students in the critical examination of news articles. My particular goal was to enable students to use their critical thinking skills in order to ferret out Fake News versus Real News. I have also created some personal Pinterest resources for Fake News and Media Bias that are more technical teacher based resources than forward facing student resources.
There are a plethora of resources which can assist in the share of information. I look forward to serving as an Information Specialist and being helpful to both students and faculty members in my Media Center environment.
